Sunday School

Sunday School is for all ages at St. Andrew. We meet from 9:30-10:30 on Sunday mornings unless otherwise indicated below. Join us on Sunday mornings as we explore the meaning of our faith and grow as disciples of Jesus Christ.

Children’s Sunday School Classes

We Believe is the curriculum for preschool and elementary classes; it is written and distributed by the Presbyterian Church (U.S.A.), maintaining a strong connection to Reformed theology. Engaging with the biblical stories, children are stimulated to learn through their imaginations and class participation. Friends and visitors are always welcome, so join us on Sunday morning.

The Winter Spring study will focus on the Gospel of Mark. Since this is Year B in the common lectionary, the gospel of Mark will be read frequently during worship this year. Mark's gospel begins with good news and is written with a sense of immediacy and purpose. The class learns through discussion, and we welcome visitors and newcomers. Come and join us!

Leader:  Elinor Caldwell
The study this quarter is a survey of Old Testament wisdom literature. Lessons are collected from Proverbs, Ecclesiasters, and the Song of Solomon. An examination of Jesus' teaching, taken from the gospel of Matthew, is also included. All adults are invited to participate.

Words. . .Words. . . Words - A look at the theological and practical meaning and use of words common to our faith and life. After two weeks of introduction on January 15 and 22, we will begin a study of Biblical words, taking two weeks for each word. The first week will be a word study of the Biblical meaning of the word, looking at various scriptural passages, and the second week will be a discussion of how the word is used by us and what it means to us. The words to be studied are:  grace, mercy, and peace; faith, hope, and love; joy, justice, truth; and discipleship.

Sojourner Class, Room 203, 9:30am
Leader:  Bonnie Robison
The Sojourners continue their study of the Book of Revelation. They are using a 12-part DVD series by Dr. Brian Blount, Union Presbyterian Seminary President and Professor of New Testament. Dr. Blount approaches this challenging book not to decode signs to determine the future, but rather to answer the question, "How do I properly respond today to God, who is God yesterday, today, and tomorrow?" Join us for this interesting and enlightening fall study.
