PRESBYTERIAN MISSION
One of our primary means of Christian
outreach is through the ministry and mission of the Presbyterian
Church (U.S.A.). A significant percentage of our total
budget is given each year to the work of Grace Presbytery,
the Synod of the Sun, and the General Assembly. This is
one of the privileges and responsibilities of being part
of a connectional form of church government, and our financial
contribution to the larger church is a tangible symbol
of our commitment to the whole church. A total of 11.7%
of our total budget is given to these causes.
In addition to our financial giving, our connection to global mission has
been greatly enriched by participating in the Mission to the USA ministry
of the Presbyterian Church (U.S.A). This is a program in which a mission
partner from another part of the world has come to St. Andrew for six weeks
in the fall, sharing with us the perspective of being a Christian from
an entirely different culture. We have welcomed mission partners from the
Congo, Slovakia, Brazil, and Korea. |
