Children's Chapel, designed for children ages 3 through kindergarten, is held during the 10:50am worship service on Sunday morning. The children leave for chapel right after the Children's Sermon. They are ready for their parents to pick them up from Chapel immediately following the service. We hold an annual Sacraments Workshop for first graders and their parents two Sunday mornings in September. Other seasonal children’s activities include Advent Adventure and the annual Christmas Pageant in December. We hold Vacation Bible School the last week in June and Mission Quest on Wednesday mornings in July. Middle and high school youth lend a helping hand during these many activities. Vacation Bible School is one of the summer anchors of our children's ministry. This year, VBS was held June 14-18. VBS engages preschoolers and elementary aged children in learning about God, themselves, and their world. A mission project is one of the main focuses each year, as we encourage our children to reach out to others. Our middle and high school youth are also involved in VBS, giving them an opportunity to become leaders in ministry as well as model discipleship for our younger children. Mission Quest is another summer program for elementary aged children, held on Wednesday mornings in July. Each week the children learn about the needs of others, both locally and globally. Mission projects have included Snack Bags for the children of Our Daily Bread, raising money to provide Godly Play storytelling sets for Casita Benjamin in Guatemala City, and putting together AIDS kits for people who are HIV positive in Africa. Learning to share God's love with others is the cornerstone of this ministry.
