Thank You! Thank You! Thank You!
Sunday's 11th annual Youth BBQ was
a fun and great event! We look forward to
serving our congregation and enjoying the
wonderful smoked BBQ from dedicated congregation
members with all of you. Thank you to all who
helped support our youth through donations of
money and baked goods. St. Andrew is truly a
phenomenal congregation in the many ways you all
support the youth group.
Starting June 4th, our summer
activities begin. We start with the annual
middle school trip, "Fungosa," to the church
cabin in Pagosa Springs. Then, our mission trip
heads to The Door ministries in Denver,
Colorado, where we join with five other churches
from our presbytery. We'll be back at St. Andrew
for Vacation Bible School and a lock-in in June.
We'll wrap-up our summer activities with Synod
Youth Workshop in July at the University of
Tulsa. It is a busy summer made possible by the
loving support of our congregation.
This year
was unique in that we did not have any high
school graduating seniors. However, we have one
youth who we do want to recognize. Elliott
Rougemont has been an active part of our youth
group as he attended Guyer High School and lived
with the Luevano family. Elliott is a student
from France and will be returning to his home in
June. We are going to miss him greatly. As we do
with our seniors and have done for other foreign
exchange students, we presented Elliott with a
quilt made by our St. Andrew quilters and a
necklace to remind him of the community here
that will continue to love and support him even
as he returns home.

Change
for Change! Helping end hunger and
poverty while caring for the Earth
Children
and Youth will be collecting change May
28-July 30 for Heifer International
The children and youth of St.
Andrew invite you to clean out the loose change
in your pockets, wallets, or in the jar that is
gathering dust on top of your dresser. Deposit
the change in the large container that the
children and youth will staff in the narthex
each week. During summer Sunday school, they
will be studying how they are a part of the
global family and gain a deeper appreciation of
how their efforts can contribute to helping
people, animals, and plants live in harmony in
God's good creation.
You can help them! Simply empty the
change out of your pockets each Sunday morning.
We will start small with collecting money for
chickens and then dream big to try and purchase
a cow or water buffalo.

congregation, their friends, Hallmark of Corinth
and Ulta Beauty of Denton, we were able to

Do
You Have CPR/AED Training?
Recently a few St. Andrew
members/staff took CPR/AED training as our
previous 2 year training coverage period had
expired. As we update our list of folk who have
current training certification, it would be
helpful if those of you possessing current
AED/CPR certification from other sources, such
as a part of your job requirements, would share
your name, the expiration date of your
certification, and the organization that
provided that training. Please forward that
information to Lou Korom at:
lou@saint-andrew.com by June 1,
2017.
