Pastors Class - check. Theology on Tap - check. Youth Group - almost check; Children in Sunday School - waiting in the wings for this Sunday. The turn-out has been great for the gatherings the PNC has put together for me to meet the congregation and vice versa. Lots of ideas for the future, enthusiasm for the present, and love for St. Andrew and the way it continues to serve God in this context. If you have not been able to make one, I hope to see you at one of the future gatherings.
Yours in Christ,
Richard
Over the next few weeks, the PNC is coordinating a number of opportunities where you can come to get to know Richard, and he can get to know you, better. While Richard will take any questions from the floor, he is curious to know:
- What would you like to see Saint Andrew doing from 5 years from now that we are NOT doing today?
-
What are we doing today that you hope Saint Andrew is STILL doing 5 years from now?
This coming week, you can find Richard at the following events:
· Sunday Oct 16, 9:30am - Children's Sunday School gathering
· Monday Oct 17, 6:30pm - Stephen Ministry Meeting
· Wednesday Oct 19, 6:30pm - Super Wednesday Fellowship Hall

Stephen Ministers' Open House
Stephen Ministers bring distinctly Christian care to those in need. They use both words and deeds to express Christ's care for others-listening and comforting, calling on the training they have received and employing the tools of faith. If you are interested in becoming a Stephen Minister, you are invited to join our meeting on October 17 in Room 206/208 on the third floor. We have a BYO brown-bag dinner at 6:00pm and our regular meeting starts at 6:30pm. You are welcome to arrive at either time.

Worship As Stewardship
As we were so eloquently reminded last Sunday morning, worship and stewardship help shape our identity as a faith community. We are stewards of an ancient liturgical tradition from which we draw fresh meaning and purpose for our lives each week. Our liturgy points us to the truth that Reformed worship is both an individual and collective offering of thanksgiving to almighty God for the many blessings we receive from God's generous hand. We encourage you to reflect and pray about your commitment to be faithful a steward in preparation for stewardship dedication Sunday on November 13.

Nametags Are Changing
In this time of transition at St. Andrew, we can help one another foster an environment of hospitality by wearing nametags so that we can easily learn one another's names. Nametags will be changing in this season and we want to make sure that you have all that you need to know in order to participate!
On Sunday, November 6, the nametag table will be leaving the hallway near the narthex. All members are invited to take their nametag with them and bring it back for church events. If you'd like one of the blue magnetic nametags that many at St. Andrew wear, they are available for $5.00 from Lynn Carrico, who can be reached at
lwcarrico@verizon.net.
