April 15, 2010 Dear Parents, Sunday, May 23, is the Day of Pentecost,
the day when we celebrate God's gift of the Holy Spirit. We will have a lot for which to give thanks
that day as it is also the morning that our 8th Grade Confirmation
class will be confirmed in their faith. We
would like to invite all of the children of St. Andrew to help us celebrate
this day by serving in worship at the 10:50 service that morning. The children will be preparing for this worship
experience during the Sunday school hour each Sunday from April 25 - May 23. In addition to their Sunday school lessons,
the children will be creating art, learning hymn #313: Come Down, O Love
Divine, and even learning liturgical dance. The children will be directed by Marissa Glasschroeder and Betty Pryor
who will be working under the guidance of Jannette Hindman and with the support
of the Sunday school teachers. Each child's attendance is especially
important over the course of these five Sundays so that the significance of
Pentecost can be better understood and so that each child can feel prepared to
serve. Please make every effort to have
your child at the church by 9:30 AM in order for them to get the most out of
this time. Classes will meet in the Children's
Choir Room the Sundays of May 16 and May 23, and will move from there to the
Sanctuary for final preparations. We are thankful for the many ways that
children enrich our worship at St. Andrew through their gift of service, and we
hope that this will be very meaningful experience for them. Thank you for your help! Peace and grace, Michael Ball Moderator of
Children's Ministry
