Greetings parents!

This Advent season we're doing some different things during the Sunday school hour.  Each week the children will have the opportunity to make a special visit to the Advent Room, Room 200, to participate in some additional learning or experience centered around the season and theme of Advent.  You will drop your child off in their regular classroom.  Your child's teacher will let you know if you need to pick your child up in their classroom or Room 200 during the four weeks of Advent.  I've given you a simple schedule for the four special weeks.  We will begin this week on Sunday, November 29 for our first Sunday in Advent when all children will make an Advent wreath.

Advent during the Sunday School Hour
Preschool and elementary age children will be participating in special Advent classes during the Sunday school hour for the four Sundays in Advent.  The first Sunday all children will be making an Advent wreath for their home.  They will also learn more about the meaning of the season and will bring home their Advent wreath and a devotional booklet on Sunday, November 29.

2nd Sunday in Advent -
children make and sell items at Market for Mission to make money for their chosen mission project.

3rd Sunday in Advent -
children will be given their Christmas Joy Offering banks and will spend class time learning more about the missions that their offering will help.  Banks are returned during the 10:50 a.m. worship on December 20.

4th Sunday in Advent  -
the Advent wreath will be lit and children will share with teachers and each other the family traditions that they celebrate at home during Advent.

Please let us know if you have any questions.

Peace,
Michael Ball
